Article 10 – MEMBERSHIP

- Associate membership
- Executive Membership
The Supportive, Associate and Executive members shall jointly be called GA -General Assembly. The Associate and Executive members shall
jointly be called CWC – Central Working Committee.
The Shoora members shall be selected from among the Executive m e m b e r s
1. Supportive Member
- Supportive Membership of BMS/UK is open to Muslims residing in the UK.
- Supportive membership: membership shall be confirmed by handing over the completed membership form to the BMS/SLIF UK office.
- They can be invited to any of SLIF UK public meetings.
2. Associate Member
Any Muslim who fulfils the following criteria may be accepted by Majlis al-Shoora as an Associate Member:
- Foundation program.
- Practicing the fundamental obligations of Islam.
- Demonstrating a keen interest in learning as well as preaching Islam.
- Shares BMS/SLIF UK objectives and principles; and actively engages in implementing BMS/SLIF UK’s work programmes; and
- Makes a regular financial contribution.
An Associate member shall earn his eligibility to benefit from all common programs and projects (activities), and also to be shouldered project responsibilities as per his or her skills, with the concurrence of the Majlis al-Shoora .
3. Executive Member
An Associate Member shall be accepted as an Executive Member if he/ she fulfils the following criteria:
- Is dedicated to BMS/SLIF’s work; and
- Follows Islamic principles based on Quran, Sunnah and Islamic teachings; and
- Maintains organisational discipline; and
- Has his/her application for Membership accepted by the Shoora (Committee)
- Shall listen to the command of the Shoora in all circumstances
Executive member shall be eligible to be selected to the Majlis al-Shoora and to be appointed as a sectional as well a s a regional head, and to get the membership of the Committee.
Article 11 – PROCEDURE TO BECOME AN EXECUTIVE MEMBER
- An Associate Member may apply for Executive Membership by submitting a completed Member’s application form, with the recommendation of his/her branch president to the Membership Committee (appointed by the Shoora council).
- The Membership Committee shall forward the application with its recommendation to the Central President (CP), who will then present the application to the Shoora Council. The Shoora Council may decide on the application.
- New Members must take the Member’s Oath either before the Shoora Council, CP or his representative, or at any other forum approved by the СР.
Article 12 – MEMBERSHIP FEE
- There shall be an annual membership fee to be used for the day-to-day maintenance of the Organisation as recommended by the General. Meeting. This fee shall be due by the end of each accounting year or upon terms agreed between the member paying the fee and the.
Treasurer. A membership receipt shall be issued to the member upon payment of the fee and it must be produced as evidence of paid up membership. - Only those members who have paid their membership fees in full shall. be eligible to vote.
